From install to repeat booking, on autopilot
InstallPass turns every unit you fit into a permanent record the owner can scan, and a reason for them to call you again. Here is the whole loop: five steps, two of which you do.

The loop
Five steps. Two of them are yours.
The first two happen at the unit, before you pack up. The other three happen while you are on the next job, in your name, without you remembering anything.
Part oneThe minute it costs you
01 You do thisTag the unit
Stick an InstallPass QR tag on the geyser, inverter, gate motor or aircon you've just fitted.
- Weatherproof printed packs, or print your own sheets
- Your business name and number are printed on every tag, so it is a business card that stays on the unit
- Every tag has a unique code printed under the QR
- Put it where the owner will look: on the unit, the DB door or the plant-room wall

- Brand, model, serial and capacity read from the photo
- Install date, installer and manufacturer warranty, service interval
- Attach the CoC, photos and install notes
Want to watch that happen? read a rating plate from a photo on whatever is installed at your own place, free and without signing in.

Two halves
One record, seen from two sides
The same unit, read by the person who fitted it and by the person who lives with it. Neither sees the other's half.
Your side: the register
Every unit you have registered, the customer it belongs to, what is due or overdue, the bookings that came off your tags, and the reminders that go out in your name before any of it.

Their side: the passport
One page that opens from the tag: what the unit is, who fitted it, what is still covered, every service since, and a button that books you. No app, no account, and you choose how much of it is public.

Before you start
What changes, and what does not
No hardware to buy, no scanner, no site visit from us, and nothing for your customer to install.
The phone in your pocket
Any phone with a camera and a browser. Nothing to install, on yours or on your customer's.
A printer, or a stationer
Plain A4 for anything indoors, 24 tags to a sheet. For outdoor units, blank weatherproof vinyl label sheets from any stationer.
About ten minutes
Sign up, add your business name and logo, print a sheet. The first unit takes a minute after that, and the next ones less.
What it takes off your hands
- The job card in a drawer nobody can find
- Hunting a rating plate photo through two years of WhatsApp
- The service reminder you meant to send in month eleven
- The "who installed this?" call that goes to somebody else
What it leaves alone
- Your quoting and invoicing, which carry on as they are
- Your accounting, and whatever your bookkeeper already has
- The CoC itself: you issue it, InstallPass keeps it with the unit
- Your phone. Bookings arrive as requests, and you still call the customer back
InstallPass is the record on the unit and the callback it brings. It is deliberately not another system to run your business from.
The life of one tagged geyser
One install. Years of reasons to call you.
Day 0
Installed & tagged
Geyser fitted, tag stuck on, passport registered with the certificate attached.
Month 11
Reminder goes out
An email goes out in your name, opening the unit's passport, where booking you is two taps.
Month 12
Service booked & logged
You do the service, and it joins the unit's history where the next person to look will see it.
Year 3
The house is sold
The new owner scans the tag, sees who installed it, and books you rather than a stranger.
Year 5
Warranty ending
A reminder 60 days before the warranty ends prompts a check-up while it is still covered.
An illustrative example. Service intervals depend on the unit and manufacturer.

What one repeat call-out is worth: the numbers behind service work
A new install is a one-off. The services that follow it are not. Here is how to work out what a customer who keeps calling you is actually worth.
Security and CCTV installers: turning alarm and camera installs into service work
Alarm batteries go flat, recorder drives fill up and cameras drift out of focus. Here is how to make sure the call comes to you when they do.

Every house has a handful of units that need servicing, carry a warranty and come up when you sell. Here is what to keep for each, and where to keep it.
In their words
What installers say about it
The same story in every trade: a tag that stays on the unit is what brings the next job back to the person who fitted it, years after the invoice was paid.
Three geysers I fitted in 2023 came back to me this winter instead of going to whoever was cheapest on Google. The tag was still on the pipe and they scanned it.
The rating plate photo doing the typing is the part my guys actually use. Before this, half the job cards came back with the serial number missing.
A customer phoned about a warranty claim from two years ago. I had the certificate of compliance and the install date on screen before she finished the sentence.
