Every pump, pivot and generator on the farm, on record
A QR tag on the equipment itself, holding what it is, where it is, who installed it, when it was last serviced and who to call. Scan it in the field and the technician is one tap away.

What happens to a farm's equipment records
The equipment is spread over the whole farm
A pump at the far dam, a generator at the pack house, a pivot on the bottom lands. Nobody can say from the office when each was last serviced, or by whom.
Breakdowns do not wait for office hours
The borehole pump trips in a heatwave or the milk cooler stops on a Sunday. Finding the right technician's number should not be the slow part.
What one person knows leaves with them
A farm manager moves on and takes the service history in their head. The next one starts from invoices in a drawer.
What you end up with
A register of the farm's equipment, built as the work is done
Each technician tags what they install or service and logs every visit standing at the unit. The farm's list builds itself from that, and stays current for as long as the people doing the work keep scanning.
One list of everything installed
Every pump, pivot, generator, cooler and energiser, with its make, model, serial and where on the farm it is.
Where it is, not just what it is
Each unit says which camp, dam or building it is at, so a new worker can find it and a technician knows where to drive.
A service history per machine
Who came out, when, what they did and the running hours, logged on site by whoever did the work.
A tag on the equipment itself
The record lives on the machine. Whoever is standing at it scans the tag and sees everything, with the technician one tap away.
Warranty dates you can prove
Install dates and warranty ends on the unit, for the claim that comes two seasons later.
Certificates where they belong
Electrical certificates, fencing certificates and service reports attached to the unit they cover.

Farm
Overdue since Sep
An example farm: every unit, wherever it is, with what is due.
An example, not a real farm. One line per machine, built by whoever serviced it last.
Who it is for
Everyone who looks after the farm
Farmers and owners
See the state of everything on the farm without a walk round, and keep the record when people change.
Farm managers
Know what is due before the season, and book the right technician from the unit itself when something stops.
Workers on site
Scan the tag at the pump that has stopped and send the technician's number to whoever needs it. No login needed to look.
The easiest way in
Ask the people who service your equipment
Your dealers and technicians tag what they install and service, and every unit they tag has a passport you can scan. Send them the page for their trade.
How it goes in
Drive the farm once with a sheet of tags. Stick one on each machine, snap the rating plate, and the list builds itself as you go.
After that it is one scan whenever anybody services, moves or replaces anything.

What one repeat call-out is worth: the numbers behind service work
A new install is a one-off. The services that follow it are not. Here is how to work out what a customer who keeps calling you is actually worth.
Security and CCTV installers: turning alarm and camera installs into service work
Alarm batteries go flat, recorder drives fill up and cameras drift out of focus. Here is how to make sure the call comes to you when they do.

Every house has a handful of units that need servicing, carry a warranty and come up when you sell. Here is what to keep for each, and where to keep it.
In their words
What installers say about it
The same story in every trade: a tag that stays on the unit is what brings the next job back to the person who fitted it, years after the invoice was paid.
Three geysers I fitted in 2023 came back to me this winter instead of going to whoever was cheapest on Google. The tag was still on the pipe and they scanned it.
The rating plate photo doing the typing is the part my guys actually use. Before this, half the job cards came back with the serial number missing.
A customer phoned about a warranty claim from two years ago. I had the certificate of compliance and the install date on screen before she finished the sentence.
