Know what is installed in your home, and who to call when it stops working
InstallPass is a QR sticker your installer puts on the geyser, inverter, heat pump or gate motor they fit. One scan and the whole record is there: what it is, who fitted it, what is still under warranty, and when it was last serviced. It costs you nothing, and there is nothing to install.

What it is
A service record that lives on the unit itself
Not a folder, not an app, and not something you have to keep. A sticker on the thing itself, and a page that opens when anybody scans it.

Curious what you already have? You can find out what geyser or inverter is in your house right now by photographing its rating plate, free and without an account, tag or no tag.
When it matters
Nobody thinks about a geyser until they have to
These are the four moments a tag on the unit earns its place, and the four moments most people discover they have no record at all.
It fails on a Sunday
You need the person who fitted it, and you need them today. With a tag on the unit, their name and number are on the page the code opens, along with what they fitted and whether it is still covered. Without one, you are searching and hoping.
You have just moved in
You inherit a house full of equipment and no history at all: no ages, no warranties, no idea who fitted what. Anything tagged tells you on the spot, whether or not the previous owner ever thought to ask.
You are selling
The record stays with the unit rather than with you, so a buyer scans the same tag and sees the install date, the warranty and every service since. A maintained house is easier to sell than a promise that it was maintained.
Someone wants proof
An insurer, an agent or the next plumber asks when it went in and who put it there. On a tagged unit that is one page on your phone, and the installer who holds the certificate is one tap away.
Selling, and not sure which certificates the property needs? Certificates of Compliance in South Africa covers electrical, gas, electric fence and plumbing: who issues each one, how long it lasts and who keeps it.
Getting one
How a tag ends up on your geyser
You cannot buy InstallPass, and you do not need an account. It is something your installer uses, so it arrives with the person who does the work, on a weatherproof sticker the size of a credit card. That is the only hardware involved.
Ask whoever comes next
The plumber replacing your geyser, the solar company commissioning an inverter, the technician servicing the gate motor. It takes them about a minute per unit and costs them a few rand a month, not you. Most say yes on the spot, because a tag on your geyser is their name on your geyser.
Send them this
Two minutes of reading and a free trial that asks for no card. If they already tag their work, say so when you book: it is a fair sign of somebody who expects to be called again.
What their side looks likeAlready have tags?
Scan any one of them and that unit opens, with no account. To see everything tagged for you at once, enter the mobile number or email your installer has on file and we email a six digit code.
Look up my unitsOnce a unit is tagged and you have agreed to hear from them, your installer's reminders reach you before a service falls due or a warranty ends, in their name, with a link straight to the unit.
No catch
What it costs you, and what it asks of you
InstallPass is paid for by the installer. For the person living with the geyser it is meant to be free and quiet.
Free for you
The installer pays for InstallPass. Scanning, reading and booking cost you nothing, ever.
No app to install
The tag opens a web page in the camera or browser you already have, on any phone.
No account to scan
A passport opens straight away. You only confirm a code when you want to see every unit at once.
Your number stays yours
Contact details are never shown on a passport, and the installer cannot see who scanned it.

In their words
What installers say about it
The same story in every trade: a tag that stays on the unit is what brings the next job back to the person who fitted it, years after the invoice was paid.
Three geysers I fitted in 2023 came back to me this winter instead of going to whoever was cheapest on Google. The tag was still on the pipe and they scanned it.
The rating plate photo doing the typing is the part my guys actually use. Before this, half the job cards came back with the serial number missing.
A customer phoned about a warranty claim from two years ago. I had the certificate of compliance and the install date on screen before she finished the sentence.

Ask whoever services it next to leave a tag on it.
It takes them a minute, it costs you nothing, and the next time something goes wrong you will know exactly what is installed and who fitted it. Installers: fourteen days free, no card needed.
